The challenges faced by the Tunisian revolution
Par Farah Hached
On April 25th 2012, Farah Hached, the chairperson of the
Democratic Lab’, gave a lecture about the challenges created by the Tunisian Revolution to about 150 students of Northwestern University of Chicago.
She explained that the current debate concerning the place of Islam in Tunisia is actually a debate about citizenship. What does mean being a Tunisian citizen today? Does not citizenship mean by nature that citizens shall not be discriminated according to their religions,
genders or political opinions?
